Handling of tank containers
The gantry crane with a load capacity of 45t and a span of 29.5m was designed and manufactured by BRUNNHUBER in Berlin. The hoist group and the stress group of the crane correspond to the classification H3 B5.
For the handling of tank containers the crane is equipped with a 20 feet VDL spreader with a weighing system and hydraulic twistlocks. The overall liftng height of the crane is 14m which is equal to 1 over 4 ISO containers.
The crane is controlled using a 4-stage, ex-protected SIEMENS S7 radio remote control. The maximum travelling speed of the crane is 80m/min and the trolley reaches maximum speeds of up to 50m/min.
Special equipment for outdoor use
In order to protect the crane from outside weather, the specially designed trolley with a winch, was completely enclosed. To facilitate future maintenances of the trolley, the trolley was additionally equipped with baseboards and protective railing.
For higher work safety, the crane is equipped with a wind warning device, which warns the crane driver visually and acoustically when stronger winds occur. The crane also has a special wind lock with fixing bolts.
Laying of 486m crane rails
In addition to the delivery and assembly of the crane, the scope of services of BRUNNHUBER CRANES also included the laying of the crane runway including project planning and static calculations. For this purpose, 2 x 243m crane rails were delivered and laid out by the crane specialists.
