Assembly of the two crane trolleys

New heavy cargo terminal of carrying company Kübler. The centerpiece is the new 500t BRUNNHUBER crane.

The marine diesel engines have up to 6,000 hp and weigh up to 500t. With the new BRUNNHUBER crane they will be lifted into a barge, to then be shipped worldwide.

BRUNNHUBER bridge crane is the centrepiece of the new heavy cargo terminal Rheinau

The 500t BRUNNHUBER bridge crane is the centrepiece of the new heavy cargo terminal Rheinau in the harbor Mannheim and was manufactured in just 9 months at the company location in Berlin. The crane has two winch trolleys with a respective lifting capacity of 250 t, which can be moved individually or together. In addition, the crane is equipped with a 20t auxiliary hoist.

With the construction of the new heavy cargo terminal, the international carrier company Kübler responds to the fact that loads are getting heavier, but at the same time streets and bridges are losing more and more of their carrying capacity. The newly built heavy goods centre at the harbor Mannheim is therefor very well connected and can be reached by road, rail and water. It has a direct connection to the Rhine (quay length of 600 meters) and a rail connection (track length of1200 meters). The harbor Mannheim offers an ideal location especially for transports by ship, as there are no maintenance-prone locks down the Rhine, which makes the shipping of goods from the location Mannheim very effective.

Successful cooperation from the beginning

The successful cooperation between customer Kübler and the BRUNNHUBER engineers already began with the joint planning and coordination of the crane parameters with regard to building statics of the hall. Through optimization and coordination/ fine gradation of the load transmission by the crane into the hall construction, considerable savings in the hall construction could be made.

Furthermore, the foundations for a safe and trouble-free outdoor-operation (ship loading) were laid. For example, a safe passage control was ensured through a crane flap, heated conductor lines were build in the outdoor area and wind loads in the design of the drives were taken into account.

Foresighted consulting - right from the planning stage

In the overall planning and design of the crane, together with the customer, future hall extensions and the use of additional cranes were taken into consideration.

In order to guarantee the future crane service, the service location, the Cranetech SÜDWEST, also belonging to the TeichmannGroup will take care of maintenance and repair. Its location is just  a 10-minute drive away.
