Winner in the competition “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes” (Grand Prix for medium-sized businesses) 2012!

TeichmannGruppe was honoured as prize-winner 2012 for North Rhine-Westphalia. On the same evening also the prize-winners for lower Saxony /Bremen, Schleswig-Holstein/Hamburg und Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland were awarded. The prices were handed over by high-ranking representatives of business and politics.

Meanwhile 4 more enterprises are belonging to the so called TeichmannGruppe; among them the founder Ralf Teichmann GmbH, Cranetech GmbH in Duisburg and Cranetech Südwest GmbH in Mannheim. Already in 2009 the service company Krantechnik Ost GmbH in Erfurt had been assumed.

The TeichmannGruppe with about 200 employees has annual sales of approximately 23 Mio. €. Every year more than 300 cranes leave the production sites in Augsburg, Berlin and Essen.

On Monday, 10 September 2012 Ralf Teichmann held a short speech for his employees in Essen and he thanked them for their commitment: „Yesterday I had the honour to receive the Grand Prix for medium-sized businesses for North Rhine-Westphalia at a festive gala event in Düsseldorf and I am very proud of having received this price in the name of all of my employees!”

From 2010 to 2012 Ralf Teichmann GmbH had been nominated for the award by the Essener Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft (EWG – “Essen Economic Promotion Company”), and by the city of Essen. Already in 2011 it has been nominated as “finalist”.

Background: Already for the 18th time the Oskar-Patzelt-Stiftung searched the best medium-sized companies of the year in the competition “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes”. Until 31 January 2012 the companies meeting all of the five contest criteria in an outstanding way could be nominated. Awarded for the first time in 1995, the annual competition “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes” organized by the Oskar Patzelt Foundation has grown to be the most important award for medium-sized companies. 3.552 companies and institutions have been nominated for the award in 2011 by more than 1.000 communities, institutions and associations. More than 40 regional service points situated in Germany offer their assistance to the participants as first local contact partner of Oskar-Patzelt-Stiftung.

Criteria: The competition expressly does not just consider business success or indicators of employment and innovation, but it evaluates a company in its entirety and in its role within society. The competition criteria are:

  • Global development of the company
  • Creation/securing of jobs and apprenticeships
  • Modernization and innovation
  • Social commitment in the region
  • Service and customer proximity, marketing
