For the continous operation as a slab tong transport crane on 24 hours a day and on 7 days a week,  BRUNNHUBER designed and constructed a special slab tong. In addition, the crane is equipped with state-of-the-art converter technology with PLC control and a WTS system (warehouse tracking system).

In the future, the slab tong crane will transport slabs in the hot storage area of the steelwork, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and handles a total weight of approx. 7,000 t daily. Due to the radiant heat of 700 degrees and an ambient temperature of approx. 80 degrees, all crane components were adapted to and were designed for these extreme working conditions.

The subsidiary service company, Brunnhuber Eisenhüttenstadt GmbH, will be the all-round service support in 4-shift operation for the crane and is the local contact for the customer.
