Modernisation of an AUMUND gantry crane in just 6 weeks

In just 6 weeks, TEICHMANN CRANES completely modernized an AUMUND gantry crane from 1974. For this purpose, the crane was completely dismantled and, after the work was completed, re-assembled and put into operation at the customer site.

After the container gantry crane with a load capacity of 25t and a span of 40m + 13m + 12.3m was dismantled, the steel work was completely overhauled, sandblasted and repainted. As part of this, the crane supports were overhauled and the aging steel pipes in the steel structure were replaced to restore stability within the crane.

As part of the modernisation work on the crane bridge, our crane specialists also noticed that the trolley rail also had to be replaced.

In addition, 4 new crane chassis were designed and manufactured by TEICHMANN CRANES.

The electrical control of the crane was also renewed and updated to the latest PLC frequency converter control including a remote maintenance module.

Furthermore, the crane trolley was completely overhauled, including new trolley drives and new trolley wheels.

Moreover, new LED lighting was installed and the crane was reassembled at the customer site in Rheinberg.
